A fantastic Japanese blend, made with aged malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's three distilleries. Spicy and sophisticated, this is great for catching people out at blind tastings. Recently awarded a Gold 'Editor's Choice' award from Whisky Magazine and picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010.
A massive step up in quality from the standard Hakushu 12 yrs, this 18yo is amazingly well-defined (as we've come to expect from Japanese whisky) with deliciously rounded fruit and cereal flavours, at times surprisingly reminiscent of the finest Irish potstill whisky (eg Redbreast 15yo).
Another hit for Suntory, this Hibiki 21 merited 93 points from Jim Murray in 2009, while Dr. Whisky called it 'Unbelievably balanced, and dangerously drinkable.'
A rather stunning well-sherried single malt from GlenDronach. Distilled in 1993, the whisky was laid to rest in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. Twenty-five glorious GlenDronach years passed, then master blender Dr. Rachel Barrie selected the casks to create this expression, which has been bottled at 48.2% ABV. The Spanish oak in which it rested has imparted a rich golden hue to the liquid - and, of course, an exceptional flavour profile.
The Tomatin 30 Year Old delivers fresh aromas of soft fruits, golden honey and smooth white chocolate. On the palate, a fusion of tropical fruits and creamy buttered vanilla mingle in an explosion of sensational mixed spices.
Created by taking Jack Daniel's standard Tennessee whisky (No. 7) and then "double barreling and double mellowing" it - meaning it enjoys an extra maturation period in maple wood before being double charcoal filtered.
The Douglas Laing family is proud to present Scallywag Year Of Ox Edition - a 100% sherry matured, limited edition Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky to celebrate the lunar of the Ox.
A warming winter edition of this popular blended whisky, which comes with a mini scarf to keep the neck of the bottle warm! Matured in a mixture of Pedro Ximenez and oloroso sherry butts, this cask strength blended malt has notes of milk chocolate, dark fruits, tobacco, cocoa and sherry.
A 1995 Bowmore single malt from indie bottler Douglas Laing, matured in a single refill hogshead for a quarter of a century before being bottled in June 2020 as part of its Xtra Old Particular The Black Series.
The annual festive limited edition is here - meet Big Peat Christmas 2019! This year, the label depicts our Peaty pal carefully selecting the casks for the recipe on a snowy winter's night on Islay. The unique recipe encompasses
Honouring the cultural richness and diversity of the Malaysian Chinese community, Moet Hennessy Diageo Malaysia presents John Walker & Sons XR21 The Legacy Collection to celebrate the rich culture and heritage of the Malaysian Chinese community. Created to honour Alexander Walker II’s knighthood from King George V, John Walker & Sons XR21 was inspired by Sir Alexander’s own handwritten notes. It was this inspiration that led Moet Hennessy Diageo Malaysia to introduce The Legacy Collection with the same spirit of celebrating the rich legacy of the Malaysian Chinese. The history of Chinese in Malaysia dates far back to the 15th century where the Chinese community toiled the soils to become an integral part of the current Malaysia. Regardless of the hardships faced, the Malaysian Chinese were committed in ensuring that their dialects and culture were passed down and inherited by the new generation in shaping their unique identity over the centuries. This unique identity, impacted by the local Malaysian culture, allowed the Malaysian Chinese to create for themselves a kaleidoscope of values and beliefs, expressed and practised through their continuation of traditions, dialect, arts, craft and cuisine — in hope of sustaining their ancestry for future generations for legacy continuation. Specially designed in partnership with local creative duo, Loka Made, The Legacy Collection features unique attributes of Malaysian Chinese clans, namely Cantonese, Hakka and Hokkien on each respective bottle design and its packaging sleeve. Through Loka Made’s compelling design interpretation and expression, the three bottles feature an extensive range of elements that are unique to each of the three clans in Malaysia. “John Walker & Sons XR21 is created using an extremely rare 3-step blending process reserved for our most precious whiskies. It celebrates not only our rich legacy but also the old blending craft of making exceptional whiskies. The Legacy Collection showcases the same endearing spirit to celebrate and honour the rich Malaysian Chinese culture, craft and traditions.” said Rajesh Joshi,Marketing Director of Diageo Malaysia.
A BLENDING OF TIME Inspired by the blending process of Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège, UVA reflected on the concept of “time blending” as a form of creation and a metaphor for the combination of different eaux-de-vie, each one belonging to a specific time in history. These time capsules are not unlike the lights that reach us from distant stars, each one existing in a different time and space, yet we perceive them blended as one. DYNAMIC FEEL OF HARMONICS Upon their first visit to the Maison Hennessy in Cognac, Matthew Clark and Maximo Recio were struck by the synergies between their artistic process and the Hennessy Master Blender’s craft. As Hennessy Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde explained the art of cognac making, the UVA team realized that their explorations of time connect with the craftsmanship of Hennessy’s art.
One of 267 bottles. A bottling from one refill hogshead. Distilled at February 1989 - Bottled at September 2019.
